None of the above.

4 20mm Hispanos, 2 in each wing. Unsynched for better ROF.

Chimp, I said the options were fixed, your new fighter is needed now and there is no time to implement changes. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I'll start off and say option #3, though it is a tough choice. Two unsynched .50's to wound and to guide my two 20mm cannon.

Alright, alright, alright. #3. 2 50s and 1 20mm in each wing, just like in some Hellcats. I like it.

Hell, that's not right either.

Still pick #3

Ok, 1 50 and 1 20mm in each wing.

Two 50s in the nose and two cannons in the wings should be plenty effective.

Though I'd prefer a armanent setup more like what the P-38 has.

One 30mm engin cannon and 2x20mm in the wingroots. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I don't think it matters. Just paint "Rabid Primate" bright, bold electric banana. They'll know what's coming and get lost.

You'll have to settle for three 20mm cannon or a 37mm cannon and two 20mm cannon Jaws. No air 30mm cannons in use by the USA in 42. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

3X 20mm will do. One engine mounted and two in the wingroots.

I guess the statement "armament options are fixed" is difficult to understand. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Ideally I would have 47 .50cals, 82 20mm cannons, and 16 30+mm cannon but they are not options. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

yeah, option #3. Put those guns as close to the prop arc as possible. Although I would prefer having another 2 .50s in the nose as well, for sniping. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hmmm, a modified #4 option might work, but put those 2 cannons just outboard of the prop. Tally ho!

Btw, this is 2004, the year of the monkey. Hopefully the "Rabid Primate" will make it into the addon. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gifhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

BOOM! Yeah, Alright you primitive screwheads, listen up. See this? This is my T-Bolt!! It's has 8 .50cals and 2000lbs+ worth of bombs and rockets. Republic's top of the line. You can find this in the Kick A$$ department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Farmingdale, Long Island and Evansville, Indiana. Retails for about $82,997.95. It's got a turbo-supercharger, all metal control surfaces with blunt nosed ailerons, and a hair trigger. That's right, shop smart, shop Republic. YOU GOT THAT!? LOL. Have you played Crimson Skies? I just wish you could fire all your guns at once. The armaments you mentioned add up to 145 individual guns. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif I would mount all .50cals and shred any plane like PlayDoh through a seive. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I imagine the effect would be like what the Phalanx gun system on US aircraft carriers are capable of. Nice! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Or you can put the arsenal found on every FW-190 A4 or "higher"

LOL! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif The whole idea was to eliminate planes like the P-38's and FW-190A armament options because they would be obvious choices. I tried to pick options that are similar to make it a difficult choice.

Cajun, turning planes into playdough....I like that.

Too bad 4 x 20mm in the wing roots (if technically feasible) isn't an option. The Brits had the right idea with the four 20s; harder hitting than .50s with a good rate of fire and suitable for all roles.

Could Skychimp Aviation please implement one of
those Phalanx guns firing through the prop hub
in some later version of the "Rabid Primate"
please?...

Yeah, I'd also defect to the Hawker factory nextdoor and ask for 4 Hispanos. And hope there's plenty of room in my new aircraft for lots of ammunition.

Failing that, option C. Like in a Spitfire. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

ROFL!

Thanks for the funny kyrule2 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

"As weaponry, both were good, but in far different ways from each other. In a nutshell, I describe it this way: if the FW 190 was a sabre, the 109 was a florett, or foil, like that used in the precision art of fencing." - Gunther Rall
