What has happen to IL-2Center.com?

Has the last passage of air left it's lungs?

After an asshat hacked the site, luthier gave up on the site(maybe the asshat himself locked the site) and now the forums are where the action takes place...

So what is happening about the add-on's?

Are they now lost in the mist of time?

Read F1NaZZ1's response to your initial post.

To clarify, he means the IL2 Center forums, not here.

I think you've failed to understand the purpose of IL2 Center.

It was to co-ordinate and manage the development of third party models for submission to 1C:Maddox.

It was never in the business of making it's own add-ons (unless you count the Luft46 project but Oleg still has control of that).

IL2 Center was a source for all matter of wonderful things, but it has descended since the B1 and I, for one, cannot understand why. I am glad that I was able to salvage IL2 Gen before it went under and the other great add-ons that were available...once upon a time. It was great, the people working behind the scences have talents that I could never hope to achieve, but they must have other interests now...or are too busy with the day-to-day crap. Things move on and they may well have.
With respect,

A few reasons are obvious ...

-- time .. sometimes the real world takes over

-- enthusiasm .. yo cant maintain it forever without soemthing to boost you along

-- hastles with hackers

-- money .. the site must have cost a fortune to run with all those free downloads

-- general lack of appreciation .. the iL2 community is very immature and demands the impossible for free most of the time

He doesn't care anymore since he got hacked.. simple enough, there to much to deal with as is.

"The Eyeties are comparatively easy to shoot down. Oh, they're brave enough. In fact, I think the Eyeties have more courage than the Germans, but their tactics aren't so good. They are very good gliders, but they try to do clever acrobatics and looping. But they will stick it even if things are going against them, where as the Jerries will run." Beurling in Malta Spitfire
