THIS IS A REPOST. I didn't realize that this forum would be a little more appropriate, so I am reposting my message here to ensure it is seen be the right people. FYI, I've learned with the new expansion pack, there is an online campaign included but I haven't seen it yet. Regardless, here is an opportunity to show your support for this feature.

SUGGESTION: The option to play the "single player" campaign portion of the game together online with other people EXACTLY as is plays in single player.

I've been living over seas from the US for 4 years now and me (Bogotá, Colombia) and my dad (Philadelphia, PA) have been playing online together for as many years (Mostly flight sims). One thing that is common among all of the games we have played together is you can NEVER play the "single player" campaign online. Ghost Recon came the closest that I have seen so far. But why not go that extra step??? Everything is already there, just connect the dots! You're already 95% there. To me it just doesn't make sense not to. Why have loads of fun with you friends online, and then disconnect and play the campaign all by your lonesome?? Wouldn't it be MORE fun to play the campaign with your friends too??

And specifically to the developers, there are probably a lot of people out there that just buy the game for the multiplayer entertainment and never even bother to see all of the trouble you went to for coding the campaign engine. Why let your hard work go unnoticed??? Connect everything together. So, whats a few more sleepless nights for you programmers? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Think of the praise you will get from computer magazines for going that extra step and the consumers that didn't want to pay for that single player campaign feature they weren't going to bother playing anyway. If you make it all one big game, it adds to the replayability. Everybody wins.

What do you think everyone?

This feature is included with Ace Expansion Pack, with a number of campaigns available (east front campaigns). Also, Battle Over Europe (seperate 3rd party title purchaseable from JustFlight) has an online campaign (as well as offline campaigns) for the West Front.

These 'new' online campaigns are argueably more comprehensive than the current offline campaigns, they are very similar to the Virtual Eastern Front engine and have similar features, all through the Il2/FB GUI. You can try it offline by yourself by going to 'multiplay' in the Il2FB menu, and starting your own 'campaign' server (it is not necessary to be online, you may play by yourself, or others may join).

Additionally, you can get DCG mission generator. This is a first class dynamic generator that supports coop multiplayer.

works really well if you pick one person in your group to host each mission.

Multiplayer -> Create Server -> Campaign -> Choose one you like.

You need AEP and/or BOE for this to work: AEP gives you Eastern front campaigns, BOE gives you Western front.

Enjoy!

Or, if you really want to work at it, you can make your own campaign for NGEN. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
