Eugh! Don't put Rock and Hardcore (c)rap in the same sentence!

Anyways, it's rock'n roll all the way for me! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Sorry I normally wouldn't do that but with only 5 choices to divide between and wanting to make the two "none"‚¬īanswers, well you know...

Depends on which side I'm flying for. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

German planes -> Gr√¬∂nemeyer and the like.
US / British -> AC/DC, Stones...
Russian, Finish -> I don't fly. :P
Japan -> Some better anime soundtracks.

I rarely put music while flying in a 'serious' way. It breaks immersion.

But when I'm just flying around, testing a plane or going against hard odds in a QMB 'what if', I listen to Josquin masses, Couperin harpsichord works, Purcell songs or H√¬§ndel organ concertos. Never Bach, he deserves an exclusive listening. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

Not too excitant for most of you, is it? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif

But it is, believe me... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Ok, Dux Corvan, I`m not too clued on the Classics, but I find Mozart`s Requiem fits really well and there`s that `All Flesh is Grasse` one ( dunno who by). Really brings home the horror of war... (bit depressing too actually...)

In my other life (outside FB!!), I fly the real things and often find myself wishing I had something to listen to! Personally, I like to listen to Dvorak's "Symphony to the New World" or "Mars" from Holst's suite "The Planets." It gets my blood moving in a dogfight!

Girlfriend often cranks up something while I'm online - but I only listen to the engines - but if I you ask me - Wagner would be appropriate for a stuka mission... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

"So when Diogenes perceived that he was greatly excited and quite keyed up in mind with expectancy, he toyed with him and pulled him about in the hope that somehow he might be moved from his pride and thirst for glory and be able to sober up a little. For he noticed that at one time he was delighted, and at another grieved at the same thing, and that his soul was as unsettled as the weather at the solstices when both rain and sunshine come from the very same source."

I don't normally listen to music whilst playing... I like music on crash and take off... very cinematic, like the opening and closing credits to a film.

Best music to fly to though for me is Maria Calas...

BTW, I listen to rock once-in-a-while, sometimes even Beethoven. But mostly just the game, totally immersed in sound. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yep, I do. But what I play depends on what I'm doing.

If I'm ground-pounding in an IL-2, Tchaikovsky is the only acceptable choice. Especially the Slavonic March and the 1812 Overture. Think _Ride of the Valkryies_ from _Apocalypse Now_ only with a very Russian feel.

When I'm flying Luftwaffe aircraft, I play Rammstein. No contest. It just fits with the roar of the Mk108 cannon.

I tend to play either Pearl Jam's first album or Tori Amos when I fly USAAF. Pearl Jam because I always listened to it back when I played _Aces of the Pacific_. Tori Amos because, well, I always do better when she's singing. She brings me good luck. Which is why most of my planes are named after Tori Amos songs.

I listen to Nightwish when I fly for the FAF, because, well, they're the only Finnish band I know, and they're metal (so it works well with the LW planes), and they've got a female lead singer (which brings me good luck, like Tori).

(aka Mitlov on HyperLobby and Ubi)

VVS LA-5FN -- "Yes Anastasia"
FAF BF-109G-6 -- "Ever Dream"
USAAF P-47D-27 -- "The Happy Phantom"

OOOOOH yeah I forgot to mention that one. Nightwish is soooooo cool and it's possibly the most perfect flying music of all. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

Venetian snares, daedelus, amon tobin, Yoko Kannos' soundtrack things [Cowboy Bebop soundtracks], sometimes old charlie parker stuff.

IDM is nice for all of that fiddly FMB work, brings out the obsessive compulsive :>

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif WOW! good to see that there are some many Rock/Hardrock/Metal/Gothic listeners here..

And the classical front is also quite well represented http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif I like it..

I almost never put on music during play...
but Wagners ride of the Valyries is really good to listen to...
Maybe the Rock and Classic stuff can be combined for some ppl: APOCALYPTICA !! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif
Otherwise in RL i just bang my way through life listening to metal/(hard)rock/gothic/punk/alternative/static etc...

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif Keep on rocking guys!

During a campaign in fb i listened to the entire Album London Calling by Clash twice over!
I think any alternative/hard rock works great with fb.
Oh yeah, and consider whichever part of your body as yet unbruised, broken, you made my vote seem like i could possibly have my brain eaten by Crap.
even now.

The king called up his jet fighters, he said you better earn your pay; drop your bombs between the minarets, down the casbah way...- Yeah its Another Clash Fanatic

I usually don't listen to music during single player/QMB and historical online scenarios, but when I'm just dogfighting online, I crank up the rock'n'roll and jump right into the fray.

My online soundtrack:

The White Stripes
The Vines
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
The Kinks
Pearl Jam
Audioslave
Guns n Roses
Led Zeppelin

Rock n' Roll man!

Der Oberst von schlechten Piloten

I don't use music in FB, I couldn't concentrate I don't think. In FS2004, I've downloaded a car CD player gauge, and edited into the overhead panel of my DC-3, I often listen to jazz and classical MP3's on my 3 or 4 hour (non time compressed) flights.

No interest. For me, it would turn a first class sim into a bad movie. I don't use the background music feature unless it has one of the background 'chatter' tracks. But, like other choices in this game, it seems to me everyone should enjoy it the way they...well, enjoy it. And if that includes music, why not?
