Call me crazy...... but I like to watch "others" online tracks.
I enjoy greatly when people describes their personal tactics and ideas...but I wish they would include onlinetracks.
I'm a pretty good 109'er and I've learned a lot from examining my own tracks, trying to see and correct my mistakes, and also to cycle through the other players to try to figure out their tricks.
I fly mostly on "GreaterGreen"
server, wich in my opinion have lots of interresting regulars and many of them are aces ,decent guys.
(I have my favorites ) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
Its very interresting and educating to see how others see from their cockpit and how they "work" in different planes. From this alone U can gain tactical understanding of many aspects of combat ,for example tracking and deflectionshooting.
I dont fly all planes. Mostly 109,p40,p39 and a few others too.
Since the planes and individuals are different
there will be quite many variations in fightingstyle.
If anyone of U have a track where U shoot me down plz feel free to post it...... I wont mind http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Now and then I post onlinetracks from GG With explanations and tactics. I noticed I had still one available on the web.... feel free to take a peek.

Im about to post another 109 vs p39 track. Wintermap this time. I have some interresting bounce tracks too. In two I get bounced.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Special thanx to "superluminal" for the tacticslesson......I use it all the time now.
o.b ....diving and screaming like a little schoolgirl. It doesn't always work though.

Online tracks are tough to trade because of their size. Unless you have gobs of web space to host them, you have to get personal by trading through e-mail or FTP or equivalent and e-mail isn't even effective most of the time because of the size transfer limitations.

Thanx Jurinko I will watch those with great interrest..
------------------------------------------------------------------------
BpGemini...Yes ntrk tracks were too big for me too, but then I edit my tracks by making a new, shorter track of the most important part of the original with the quickrecording function.
To get rid of the wierd lageffect from the beginning of the track I pause the track, hit recording and wait 2 secs before I unpause. and then U just have to stop the recording where I want it to end...and voila! a shorter track. I make them about 500kb ,1mb or 2mb.
On my Tripod account (free) I can upload maximum 2mb files( although it sometimes can take 20mins to upload) and I can have quite many files before I run out of space.

Thanx again Jurinko for posting your tracks I downloaded all of them. It was interresting to watch and I really enjoyed it.
Hope U dont mind me giving a few tips or suggestions? In general it looked fine, U hit your targets well and climbed away alright.
You could work on your lookaround routine a bit.
Some time ago I noticed that my lookaroundroutine was quite bad for an ace ( ok now I said it...ok I'm quite good but I still often do too many mistakes. I like to say I'm a random ace).
The problem in a sim is that u cant lean your head to watch past cockpitbars, instead u have to move the plane more while looking around , and if u aren't used to that u loose too much speed in the process.
U ofcourse see best when outzoomed.
= bigger field of vision.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My routine is like this.
1 Directly after takeoff ( takeoff as fast as possible) a wide turn and look back+up and watch inside the turn. Back+up gives a better field of view than just looking back and I have a button on my joystick asigned to the upview...so with my left hand I press the up button while the right hand presses the tophat to look back left or right.
2 On my way to the battle area I try to climb to atleast 3000m or more and while climbing I do wide turns and look behind+up and also below me by rolling inverted or almost inverted.
3 Like U I circle over the battle area and search through my side window looking down in the turns.
4 If I spot a plane below I check my rear a last time before diving after him.
5 When I climb, after a BnZ attack or just climbing for altitude I turn widely and search my rear and up position and sometimes rollin while looking back+up or up in the climb. After a shot down enemy I try to always make a turn and look behind.
6 same routine when i go home.
7 mostly I do the shortest combatlandings possible With violent s-turns or one single sharp turn to bleed as much speed as possible(no long approaches), sometimes switching off the engine to slow down faster. While doing these violent turns I search my rear. and turn aside to the grass from the runway so other can land.
This is what I "try" to do but I still often forget to. Its easy to forget when U see other movement in the sky, U tend to be fixated at movement.
Anyway , since I started this lookarounroutine I spot a lot more planes than before and many times in the last second. It really helps. Nowadays I even look behind me during a dogfight quite often ,without losing track of my target.
And after combat I more often remember to make a climbing turn+ look back+up and then a diving turn in the opposit direction + look back+up. This gives a good view around U.
U can see this in my posted track.
I'm still working on to remember the routine and not to get fixated with all unimportant objects in view. For example I try not to watch enemyplanes I've shot down too long since they are already finnished.
plz feel free to comment....
cheers

Jeees Aristo!! Ur track really startled me for a while....Shooting at friendly planes like that...hehe. It took me a minute to understand that the other guy in the same plane was the enemy....I thought U were wingmen...and then u suddenly start shooting at him http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif
I'm so into the GreaterGreen settings that I forgot that there exists other variations.
(wich is fine by me)
I noticed that padlock was used, it really messed up my head (got dizzy). How do U cope with padlock in a furball?
I saw that lots of info about the surroundings got lost when u used that function.
I used padlock once or twice in the old cfs1 days( I think it was), it didnt work for me then either.
U sure kicked Ur frinds but there although he was a bit on the disadvantage.
thnx for sharing

excellent idea for tracks... don't know why they are available on this official site (yes they are but for IL-2 versions not even for FB not to mention ACES http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif).
like to watch some good tracks too http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Good link Mechy01.
The interresting with these is that u can watch the individual tracks of the participants.
I liked 2 vs 2.
I also understand that in a contest all should fly the same plane, But I admit I have some problems with shooting at a plane of the same model as my own, although tactical info is still available.
I prefer axis vs allies and I'm happy to fly on either side.
Perhaps I'm to serious and conservative after all http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif (not really).
---------------------------------------------
There was A track with some formationflying (display) with four p51d's.
It would be fun to try that type of flying sometime.
Those boys really messed up at landing http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
I would probably done that too.....Typically me.
Thnx again!
