Bloody amazing when you think about it... so many free add on aircraft, maps, campaigns etc for both the orginal IL2 and FB http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

It'll be a damn cold day in Hell before Microsoft do anything similar for their shoddy combat flight sims. If there's any justice in the world, Oleg and co will clean up with PF and BoB.

Lots of thanks to everyone who's contributed to free stuff for these sims... especially Gibbage for the Spit V

Yes indeed.

Thanks for all the continued support. Worth bearing in mind that there is usually no royalty / post shipment payment for game software at all so a great deal of this work is probably coming in at a big loss for Maddox. Thanks to all the 3rd party modellers too.

Not everyone here is an ungrateful crybaby, it just seems like it sometimes :>

I'm very grateful for all the new planes too. When I compare the support and updates to this game compared to all the other games I've played, it's just head and shoulders above the rest.

At this point I think I've played this game series more and longer than ANY other game now, and I still haven't flown every plane yet. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks,

Aye, huge thanks to the modelers and MG!
At the end of the day we ought to sit back and forget about .50cal convergence and the 190's cockpit bars, and just look at what this community has accomplished over the years. And the most amazing part is how much Oleg and MG are part of the community, not outside it.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

ms cant even come close. either grafix or realism wise. least u need to have contact before u collide..in cfs2, u'd wreck into each other from 300' out. + u didnt have defended airfeilds, ability to carry or launch ordanance, to sit as either a pilot or a gunner in a bomber..then again, what bombers...wasnt any; neither dive, level, or torpedo bombers. u couldnt adjust fuel level or gun convergance either, or the ability to actually make it even close to being real with only cockpit/no externals, etc.
up untill the pacific theater is released, the only suck points is: no carriers, lack of corsair, hell/wildcats, and the fact that the american planes are tad nuetered in the areas of their true potential in manuverability, speed, and most definately firepower in the guns. but oleg refuses to take a hard look at all the tables that's been posted on a/c performance, guns, etc with the american planes. they'd rather make the 108's into 1-hit-wonders when in a real plane, the bogey would be like trying to hit a gnat with a shotgun at 5 yards. u'd have to be point blank and then it would still be iffy. a 5 pound shell would pack a whallop, but over point blank range, u wont hit anything in a deflection going 300 mph with it either...bombers on the other hand would be rather easy....fighters, no way. the gun flashes are a bit unrealistic...come on...a super bright flash in broad daylight...ummm ya http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

This and a sac of gold might have driven my chronic sense of entitlement into remission, at least for long enough for me to express my gratitude to all those who've contributed. Wouldn't that have been nice?

Cheers,
