View Full Version : Wife keeps telling me not to play FB anymore

XyZspineZyX

My wife keeps moaning at me and telling me that I don't care for her anymore and that all I do in life is plug in to a virtual world. I think she is she is being very unreasonable. I only play the game for 18hrs a day and then I go to sleep
Can anyone out there offer me advice?

As I posted here earlier....

My wife passed away on Tuesday or was it Thursday ??

I am now free to spend 23 hours a day online or campaigning.

If I can incorporate a lavatory within my cockpit to sit on I could run for 24 hours.(Plus a microwave and mini-bar otherwise this would seem ridiculous !).

Perhaps you can encourage your wife to pass away on Monday ??

I hope this helps my fellow Squad member

get her a "another" joystick, a set of rudder pedals and introduce her to online. my wife's already got her call sign assigned in HL and is after me to get her all set up on my "old" athlon.

and...she thinks i'm going to protect her from all the online testosterones - yeah sure, "oops, sorry honey, didn't mean to shred your wings like that..." /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

she really is a whiz at grand prix legends - just can't seem to get her off the computer when i've got that hooked up - "honey, you coming to bed?"...and i know i'll really loose her when lomac comes out...

i shure can't complain! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

My story is even worst... I'm 32, but I live with two single aunts. They put papers in the floor so I don't step it... and are always cleaning my room (this is, throwin' my things to trash). They are always asking me to clean something, and this cleaning-mania in driving me mad. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

They spend all day shouting and yelling I'm going to get converted into a mass killer, because at afternoons I play all these horrible violent games of WW2 with MGs and explosions, and insist that I should employ better my spare time, cleaning constantly under my bed or polishing silver, or ordering my clothes by colors. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Tonight I'm gonna be a good niece, and I'll prepare both of them a cup of tea... a STRONG cup of tea. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions folks. I decided to invite her into my study and show her what real aviation is all about. After a few moments when she wasn't looking I pressed Ctrl E and after looking around for a few seconds she suddenly ran over to the window and jumped out (we are 10th floor in a tower block)...and then the chair she was sitting on caught fire and then exploded.......... she has not returned since...I just don't understand women I guess

My former wife has dumped her second husband...wonder if he discovered FB also?

Some ideas..

1. Keep the fridge stocked with ice cream and other goodies for her instant gratification.

2. Get her the inflatable autopilot from the movie "Airplane".

3. A discrete box arrives in the mail for her with some unmentionable toys inside.....

4. Let her sit in your lap and take flying lessons.

5. Get her hooked on HGTV (Home and Garden Television). Women will watch channel this 24/7/365. You may never get her attention again. Beware of the "honey-do-list".

Ok If you wana keep flying and also keep your wife happy your gona have to do some things for her at least 3 or 4 per week

First take time to burn dinner for her @ least once a week, they Love that. Next suprise the heck out of her by cleaning the kitchen and doing some laundrey once a week it only takes 3 hours if that, finaly take her to dinner once a month at a decent resturaunt and act like you realy want to be there & treat her like the Queen on that day, Like open her car door, open all doors for her, Pay for the Meal if its raining throw your coat on any large puddles blocking her path or cary her over them...... get my drift

These few small suggestions will save your marrage & allow you to waste quality time here with us in FB !!!

Good Luck

P.S. if you spend more than 6 hours a day flying FB you better take her to dinner 2x a month..... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Ignore her at your peril. If you want to stay married.

I've used games as an escape from pain in my life. it's about the same as any drug for thoses who crave relief.I felt better while playing, but it really made my pain worse to use what should have been a harmless entertainment that way.

I got into counseling for the underlying pain that I tried to solve by playing games too much.Trying to be close to someone again when they are ready to divorce you is very hard and may not work.

Facing up to my flaws has been the hardest thing, and my marrage has been so damaged that it might not survive. Obsessive gaming was part of that.

I've neglected my wife and didn't show her the love she deserved. Now I am lonely and sad because the pain I caused has come back to me. I hope you can listen to her and never end up this way.

Best of luck to you,

hans

Hi,

My wife sees this as no problem.

When i need something for the computer (thats not often),
she remembers me to buy.

I help friends/family with computerproblems and
that gives satisfaction.

My wife says, you can better sit behind your pc then
in the bar or what else. She knows where i am and what
i do. Everyone has a hobby. People without a hobby
are just bees without honey.
I must say that i have thrown my other hobbies overboard.

And most of all we have a great relationship
without argues or fights or whatever.

She comes tired from her work and loves the silence
in the living room when i am upstairs behind the pc.
for a hour. When i come from my work i want to play 1 hour il2fb to forget the hardwork.

I play il2fb because it has ritchened my knowledgement
about many things. For example (WWII, plains, flying, computer technique} and you can also learn many things from this forum).

I hope that this will be a small lesson to you.

Don't have much experience so I can't speak from that...but some good wisdom on this board has been imparted.

What I do know from my studies (I study communications) is that in any relationship, time away is just as important and valuable as time together. If you are real compulsive gamer then you need to examin your habits...if its a couple of hours a day after a very long days work then you are safe. If its hours on end, without dinner, without doing the important stuff, then no...its a bit of a problem.

Now I'm a university student, I can spend as much time as I want http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif On the other hand...no I can't...I get my time in when I can...because the rest of the time is bars and books http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

This remins me of a Spanish anonyme classic of literature "Lazarillo de Tormes". It's about a child that is the leader of a blind man, in 17th century. This is a cruel man that gives almost no food to the kid. He buys grapes and says the kid to alternate with him in eating: one for you, one for me, etc.

After a while the kid sees that the man is eating them two after two, and gets annoyed, but doesn't say anything. He starts himself to eat them three after three.

Suddenly, he's beaten by the blind man. "Why have you beaten me?" -the boy says- "because you are eating the grapes three after three"

"And how do you know?"

"Because I'm eating them two after two, and you've said nothing." /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Maybe your wife is eating mo' grapes than you, man. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

After reading all that, I must say, I've got an exceptional wife. She dosen't give me a hard time at all. I think some of your wives are insecure about something or another. My first wife would be acting that way if we were still together. But I booted her and she got the gold mine for 6 six years. For the peace at home, it was well worth it. lol Hang in there fellas!
