Wouldn't it be cool to be able to fly with the aces or at least a close facsimile thereof?

I remember in Aces over Europe and Aces over the Pacific you could fly with Johnson, Preddy, Priller, Nishizawa etc,...

I don't know what it would take, but I always thought it was a cool addition to fly with these guys.

Would you like to see it as an option?

(sorry, it should have been a poll...but I don't like polls)

i think the real problem is making the AI for these aces stand out as individual, otherwise your just flying with an ace ai wingman in a historical skin. which you can already do.

How much fun would that be to see Hartmann die in his 2nd mission with you ? I wouldn't like that feature.

Perhaps a game that limited the 'Ace' AI level for use only by actual 'Aces' would suffice. It would just need a slightly less capable skill level for the other AI pilots to aspire to... (I'm not sure I'm making myself clear on this one, sorry).

I remembered in the XWing series, where you can fly with Luke Skywalker and Darth Vadar in some mission, those "Heros" just won't die no matter what come to them, they can even crash into a star destroyer and come out with just minor damage http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Thunderbolt56,

If A.I. can be programed to fight as good as you can and if they labeled that A.I routine: Robert S. Johnson then you may be onto something. Otherwise the current version of A.I. flying a Johnson skin is going to be lacking credibility, in my opinion.

I'd like to see A.I. routines that could do justice simulating the Gentile/Godfrey pair or the Nowotny Schwarm.

It would be nice just to have A.I. routines that are subjected to the same limited flight models, the same inability to see through clouds, through planes, etc.

Artificial Intelligence may be getting better but it is still like diet coke to me, or powdered eggs, or near beer http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Does anyone drink near beer? Why, so you can pee a lot?

OOOOOPs that is off topic http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
