View Full Version : Rough water T/O and Landings...wouldn't it be nice

Imagine if you could eventually do this in FB.

I read somewhere that the PBY piloted by Adrian Marks,(I think she was called Playmate 2), that put down to pick up some survivors from the Indianapolis did so in some rough water. She held together though and her crew pulled 56 survivors from the water and then spent the night bailing to keep her afloat.

I really had no idea how rough the water could get and still allow a landing.

They taxied a sunderland close to 300 miles back to africa because they couln't get airborne again

If you enable AI airplanes and take off take off and landings you can do that with the pby.

I wonder what kind of figures they got for mpg for that trip. Do you know if they recovered the a/c or did they let it sink. Playmate 2 sank shortly after the survivors & crew were picked up.

With water that rough???

I think the water in the game is undermodelled but I could be wrong.
