First visit: I bought Il-2 A few months ago now and was impressed but surprised to find the chat in Rusian(?) which means nothing to me. Are there other language versions? Have I been duped? Can it be dubbed with English?

Did you buy a Russian version (there's letter R at the end of the version number)?

Don't you have subtitles on top of your screen, at least some of the time? I have - for the Finnish and German and so on.

Check in your conf.ini, It's a file in your main IL2 directory, a little way down in the [Game] section there is a NoSubtitles setting. Make sure it is set to 0.

That should give you subtitles for the foriegn languages.

If you click this http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=23110283&m=889106245&r=660102845#660102845 and check pterodactyl77s post (2nd down) there is a link to the BBq speech pack which replaces the default german and russian with engish in german and russian accents so you don't need the subtitles. Just replace the De and Ru folders in C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\samples\Speech with the ones from the zip file. Hope this helps

You can paste the US speech folder into the other folders, and all the speech will be in English. You may want to back up the originals. See the readme file for more specific instructions.
