Hmmmmmmmmm, well based on the last dozen or so threads you've posted, I'd suggest needlepoint.

I recently went to the 256 9600 Radeon card and it is great. Don't really know (or care) specifically what fps change there was in a number sense but the the detail, clarity, etc was greatly enhanced. I'd do the card...

Get a Radeon 9800 pro (128) for 200$. Still the best bang for the buck. I have it and love it. It'll spice up even old systems.

What frame rates are you getting now? If it's acceptable to you, I'd get the TrackIR. If it is not, then go with the vid card.

I had to downgrade some of my settings to get what I feel to be playable frame rates (35-45 fps). TrackIR will eat anwhere from 1-4 fps, but I sure do enjoy it (adds greatly to the immersion and ability to track a bandit).

YMMV.

I had a faulty 9600 pro (made by S****ire), so I had to use my old 7500 for awhile, until I got a new 9600 XT. Amazingly 7500 was not that much slower than 9600, but in case of heavy action it turned into slide show way earlier than it does with 9600. I'd say FB is more CPU and RAM dependand than Gfx-card dependand.

You have a 4-5yrold 64M card.....get the new card... or a 9800Pro if you can.... with your current card, getting TIR will not be all that anyway.

TIR will be a slide show on your current card.
Expect double of frame rates.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.
