View Full Version : Samsung Dreamhack Open Recap

05-13-2015, 03:43 PM

We were going to have Shifty post the Trials Fusion Dreamhack Samsung Finals VOD to YouTube and call it a day, but that would be a waste of the awesomeness of Dreamhack Tours.

We had a player drop out at the last minute, and that allowed for three Dreamhack France qualified players to step up against our console participants.

Over 3 days nearly 1500 people stopped by the booth to see if they had what it took to compete. In the end it was AlePS, Vincent and Shyro who qualified on site; AlePS being Friday’s qualifier with Vincent a Shyro qualifying on Saturday. We also had the pleasure of meeting Chaaampy (https://twitter.com/MrMoiGaming), friend of Shyro, and an all-around cool guy. If you are ever at an event where any of us are, then send us a tweet or stop by the booths and say “hi”, it's always awesome putting a face to the name, or gamertag, in this case.

We have been lucky enough to rock some pretty impressive booths before, but never have we had something quite like this. Samsung provided us with a number of their new Curved displays. If you follow @TrialsGames (https://twitter.com/TrialsGames) on Twitter, then you may have seen this image, but seeing it in person while Dreamhack Tours qualifiers were going on was definitely something awesome. Three 27’ Samsung Curved Monitors (http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LS27D590CS/ZA), set up side-by-side showing spectator mode of the qualifiers with the focused player in the middle screen, shows off more of the action than we usually get to see. We were also able to rock some 34” Samsung Curved Monitors (http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/pc-peripherals/monitors/design/LS34E790CNS/EN) throughout the booth (Shogun didn’t bring me a product sample… Rude – Shifty).

We had some awesome 1 hour commentary sessions at the booth provided by Game One hosts @KayaneFR (https://twitter.com/kayanefr) & @NormanGenius (https://twitter.com/normangenius) and YouTuber Unsterbliicher (https://www.youtube.com/user/Unsterbliicher), who were excellent people to be able to hang out with (and beat at Trials, I'm looking at you Gen1us). The French Trials Community helped to set an awesome standard for the Finals.

Here is the full VOD from the Samsung Dreamhack Trials Fusion Finals, but we want to give Samsung & Dreamhack France an extra special THANK YOU for helping to make this event an amazing experience for everyone, especially our finalists.
