I heard it of the man himself. It,s going slowly due to a lot of measuring, but he intends to make an update soon! We can be proud of all those hard-working community members. We have to give him all our support when we want to fly those heavies.

Really ?

Man, I so hope so - a proper four engine bomber to play with would just be the mutt's nuts, especially if the crew positions, bomb sight et al are included.

With the Ju88 and B25 coming along in later patches things may be really looking up for bomber fans at last http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Luthier started making noises about B-17 cockpits on the PacFighters forum recently. Of course, the man is recovering from the flu...

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is not one bit true.

Me too, but I really would love to see the B-17 flyable.

I heard that Oleg had a special team formed to model and test a flyable B-17 in total secret.
They are currently working their butts off in a secret underground cellar in a place called Area 51 (what kind of a name is that BTW?)

If a B-17 (or for that matter ANY large flyable plane were made) like Lancaster, Sunderland, Emily, Halifax, B24, Stirling, Condor, etc etc etc

And if it were available as an add on addition for about $40 --- I would still buy it.

Well, Oleg did say there would be more emphasis on bombers for PF. We can only hope.

I think Potver is referring to this post recently made by Luthier:

http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=26310365&m=856107363

He simply said in this post that he is looking for reference info concerning early B-17 models, including pictures, drawings and cutaways.

All of these things are required for making the external model, and do not imply that the interior is being made.

Just the fact that Luthier is looking for reference on the forum pretty much guarantees that it will not be flyable.

well, they are going to have to become flyable some day. I mean on the list of A/C in AEP it had a B-17...so eventually we have to get it or else we don't get what we paid for, right?

You did get an AI B17 in AEP. That's all that was advertised.
Flyable would be nice too though ...
