Hello.I was wondering what I should do.I have 500 right now to spend and have decided on a 21 inch monitor OR a 19 inch monitor.

Now my question is will the 2 inches more that a 21 inch monitor has over the 19 inch really justify the extra 230 dollar expense?I am looking for comments from people that have upgraded from a 19 to 21 inch monitor. Is their that big a differnce??Please help me out since I dont wanna make the mistake and regret it for a yr or two.Right now I have a 17inch if that helps out.

Well,It boils down to what your vid card capabilities are. If in fact you are using one of the top of the line video cards, a serious gamer, and have no objection to bulky monitors. I would look no further than the Phillips 22" Model# 202P4574 Flat Screen CRT. 20' viewable $518.99

I was looking at terms of real-life applications and waranty and support to go along with the the whole package. I have seen the quality of the Phillips brand and the facts this monitor has a 3 year comprehensive waranty cant be beat in my views. I once was at the crossroads to select the CRT vs LCD. I personally like the picture quality of the CRT.
Weight is a whole different matter, yes this is big at 61 Lbs. I suppose you have a few choices yet this is where I would spend my $$

What I would like to know is if there is a big immersion benefit from the extra 2 inches compared to also paying 230 dollars extra.

The reason I ask this is because I have played FB on a friends monitor which is 21compared to my 17 inch.I didnt notice a difference but I feel this is because I was in a different rrom, different joystick,etc...

What I need is some one who has gone from a 19 inch to a 21 inch and really can say its worth it to spend 230 dollars more on ithttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

boohaa, I went from a 19' NEC to a 21' Viewsonic Professional series. In my opinion the 2 inches is not worth $230, but it certainly is noticeable. After using the 21' for so long, going back to 19' really is noticeable.

Still, I went to a computer show and bought my 21' Viewsonic for $180 (normally $500+). It has a tiny scratch or two that is only noticeable when the monitor is turned off (I have NEVER noticed any scratches in-game). I have had this monitor for a year and a half and had no problems at all. I get alot of compliments on this monitor and to be honest I haven't seen a better one yet IMHO (though I'm sure they are out there). It even requires special, thicker cables because of the power it uses. Normal monitor cables won't cut it. It really was/is one of the best purchases of my life.

My advice would be to check out a computer show and look at some refurbished, higher quality 21'monitors. Get the sellers info, and ask about any type of guarantee or a course of action if problems occur. Always ask to see the monitor in action. If you don't feel comfortable then I would save the money and get the 19'. I had an amazing experience buying a refurbished model but I would understand others concerns. Hope this helped rather than confused the situation more.

Thanks...Im sold and a 19inch it is

ViewSonic P95F+B

The reason that really sold me is that even though I would love the extra size ,the fact remains that I will save lots of moooolah and also can run at a lower resolution sparing me a videcard upgrade also.Thankshttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
