Does anyone know what happened to this project, or am I just so blind that I missed that they've already been implemented. I was very much looking forward to this.

Wow! Not seen those before!
Are they posted development shots?

Just fired up the FMB (AEPv2.01) and looked at the berlin map to see what i could find and these are the closest airfields I can find:

and

http://server5.uploadit.org/files/MustangWZI-berlin2.JPG

These unfortunately are originals. Nothing new. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I'd really like to have intersecting runways though.

Can anybody shed some light?

Great question, If Oleg or IanBoys could be so kind as to shed light on this it would be much appreciated. I'm hoping in BoB that each airfield will the authentic to its real life counterpart at the time. EAW had this excluding the forward bases.

That second field looks like a collision waiting to happen online.

I would love to be able to take off with a flight on a large grass runway just like they did back then. Can you imagine taking off with your 4 ship right at your side....That would be cool....

Just like in those old news reels with the 109's or spits taking off simultaniously, that would be nice indeed!

Yes, I thought there would be new airfields too. Maybe sometime. I'd like that. Anyone have news? Ivan?

That's actually fully possible now. All you have to do is to make a mission where you drag the "take off" waypoint onto som suitable grassland, and decorate the place with sutable objects like tower, tents, baracks, stationary aircrafts etc. Check the mission builders forum details.

I'm hoping BoB has some proper airfields rather than the generic ones we have now. RAF airfields of the period were quite busy in terms of the amount of 'stuff' laid out around the field, from hangers, mess halls and perimeter fences to air raid shelters, dispersal areas and so forth.

Doesn't make any difference at all to the way the game plays but these little detail items make so much difference to the immersion of a sim I think.

Those dev shots posted at the top of the thread are really quite cool, shame they didn't make it into FB.

Those airfields were developed by Ian Boys, probably altogether the Koenigsberg map that was supposed to come with AEP but never did. What will happen in the future, I'd like to know too!

Airplanes are now built to carry a pilot and a dog in the cockpit: the pilot's job is
to feed the dog, and the dog's job is to bite the pilot if he touches anything...

Can you tell me where to find out more about this Koenigsberg map. This is news to me. I'm hoping they implement the new fields all over FB's existing maps.

I could be wrong but I think those new airfields are on the Ardennes map...
