I'm an audit manager in a Big 4 Accounting firm. Boring, I know. However, I'm the audit manager on Boeing! I got to sit in an F-111 cockpit a few weeks ago, as well as try my hand at the F-111 flight sim ('perks' of the job). All I can say is the graphics on those things are awful!! however, the realistic cockpit is awesome.

P.S. Hey Pharoah, why does Boeing have Aardvark simulators? That was a General Dynamics plane! What's the chance an old F111 crew chief would be able to check this simulator out?

Ha ha, we can use the upcoming B-25 to stand in, better armed than most C-130s. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Sounds like you do what I do, just differant nomenclature you've got there, across the pond. It gets cold working outside but I like being around and working around aircraft .
My other job which is more a passion than a job is "musician" . I play lead guitar in my band "Sugarbuzz" . I've been in the band about 4 years but I've been playing professionally for 21 years . I've also recorded in L.A. and N.Y..

Wow lotsa nice jobs here! Congrats. I start my new job Wednesday at an auto parts store. Starting an auto repair shop with a friend/soon to be business partner. Was in the US Navy from 97 thru 01, aviation maintenance admin, spent the first 2 years in helos, obtained aerial gunnery quals/certs and E5, went and played in H60s and H53s. Moved to F/A-18s, spent a year on line maintenance, 8 months actually working in my rate, then finished with 4 months of working in the Federal Building downtown. Went off to college, realized an associates degree wasn't going to do anything for me except put me in debt, so that went away quickly. As someone previous to me in this thread stated "Gloriously unemployable". So true.

Interesting question: My answer comes here! I`m a 40 years old musician, composer and a arranger. First learned to use computer as late as autumn 1997!!! Until that time I had congratulated myself for being one of those- nowadays few people - who does not need to bother learn computer things. 1997 I had to study this thing for to use databases and later music notation programs. Today I have been IL-2/FB player now for 1,5 years. And I will never stop playing. Have tried several games and sims, but FB is the best of all.
By the way: older Finns (from Finland) know the IL-2 Sturmovik by the name of just STORMOVIK (read two o:s). In finnish it should be pronounced with two o:s.
Have a nice evening everybody!

I'm a contractor working in Risk Management for a large Life and Pensions company in Edinburgh Scotland, and I hate it! I'm going to try my luck in Australia where my sister lives but I haven't decided when. My Post Graduate degree was actually in IT but I'm not doing any IT work at the moment.

I'm an office cleaner, WooHooToYou (RBJ), and there's no shame in that. Norris IS a Firmware Engineer and he's known to many of us.

Who are you other than a malcontent troll? Seen your postings here before and they smell like fish bait IMHO.

Hey Lamb ,
I grew up right next to Iroqouis Park . Lived right behind DeSales H.S. on Kenoak Dr .Lived there for about 15 years . Graduated from DeSales and went to U of L . I used to hang out in Iroquois Park a lot . Used to spend a lot of time cruisin' around the park (when you used to be able to do that) and hangin' out up top at the lookouts . Ahhh, the Iroquois girls ..... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif Ahhh, the Holy Rosary girls.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
I still go up there in the summer to mountain bike and play disc golf .
My brother went to Iroqouis H.S. He flies with me online sometimes .
The South End rules !!!!! Yeah !!!
You say that you fly online . Hyperlobby , right ? I'll look for you next time I'm in there . I have to play at Phoenix Hill Tavern this week Jan. 8, 9,and 10 . If you are out , stop in and check out my band . We'll be on the stage downstairs . You'll know me , I'll be the guitar player shreddin' and goin' off !! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Air Traffic Controller at DFW TRACON (you know, the guys in the radar room). Been testing out the "Big Sky Theory" for 16+ years.

Started out at Norwood Mass in a tower, went down to Quonset/Ocean Approach (Providence, R.I.) to get some radar time, then went to 'The Show' - O'Hare TRACON. I've been in Texas for just over 7 years now. And finally the most important thing - Union Member.

Any AAL Pilots out there? I would just love to shoot one of you guys down, lol. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I install/upgrade computers and network equipment for any client of my employer's (Getronics) that we have won contracts for. Yep, I'm a "computer guy"...as in "Where's the computer guy??....Ask him how this thing works!" We have done the equipment installs for Target Department stores for years now, now doing the data wiring too. I now get to write the installation manuals for the equipment we put in since I have done so many of them. And I still get to do hands on work too, which I really like....
I have been to every state but Hawaii wih my current job, at least 2 times each over the last 10 years now, including Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, loved traveling and getting paid for it!!!.
Used to work for Control Data and Seagate on disk drives. The heavy duty ones used in servers and such. Worked as a support tech for the engineers when Seagate bought the disk division of Control Data. Got paid to break things!!! Actually, test 'em to spec., then see what it would take to make it fail!!! Kind of fun but like my current job a lot better, I get to be outside a whole lot more and do a bit of traveling too.

Field rep for a Horticultural products broker - I get paid for doing sales of inpust to commercial horticulture companies ( nurseries, greenhouses, landscapers, etc ) but it seems 60% of my time is as an "extension agent/business consultant" ( commission isn't paid till after the customer's check clears, and that may be over a yr after the sale in the case of producers for Wal-Mart, HomeDepot, Lowe's, etc. ) - product lead time maybe 6 mo till it gets to grower, 3 mo for them to produce & deliver, & then 90 days [at best in most cases] for the grower to get paid - lots of 'windshield time' between customers - at least 50,000 mi. yr -- guess who I'm shooting at when I play FB ? - its a great "stress relief therapy" - good thing my old notebook is too underpowered for it or I'd never get any work done when I'm "on the road" !

Anyhow never mind the ponies

I have a marvelous wife and 4 kids 19 to 12. I'm 43 and this year will probably get beat by my oldest boy at the local stock car track. Got a horse on an acreage full of trees from all over north america. We run high speed go-karts at an old local track for fun and training. I work for the forest service up here in Alberta Canada - modelling ecosystems (timber supply) and working the policy angles for reforestation, getting all the field time I can otherwise - quite a bit of flying in choppers and the like. No money and a shop full of welders and so on to keep all the machines running.

I lost my right arm to the shoulder in a road accident in '94 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif I was 46yo @ the time and a master builder. It was/is a savage blow - but I have fought back, in RL as well as the virtual skies. I got into computing of course, and used the PC in my studies to become a humanistic counsellor. One day a friend introduced me to iMagics' Dawn of Aces and Warbirds and I was hooked! (On the Se5a mostly http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif ) I joined a squadron (No.6 Sqdrn, RFC: "The Black Lions" and had a lot of fun, and met and made a lot of friends; here in Devon, England and around the world.

I guess that last sounds a bit off-topic but DOA, and now FB, do occupy a fair part of my life up to & including the construction of a small cockpit in my den. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif I did it,er, single-handed and it's very cosy.

I've never lost the building bug - I must've laid about 10,000 bricks in the last few years in garden landscaping, and I'm booked for another 4,000 in the Spring, LOL.

And I get to my work on a specially adapted bike & sidecar - currently a BMW K100RS with an all-steel Russian military sidehack http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif It's good for the ton (100+mph, not that I would EVER do such a speed, officer, honest http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ) with a passenger and sits down tight on the road on square-profile radials. It's a brute; I love it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
