I have GR, DS, and IT. I was playing on a campaign in IT, up to the mission where you have to defend the voting center. No problems so far. Then I installed the Cuban Missile Crisis mod, and played that a couple of times. Still no apparent problem, UNTIL I try to go back to the IT campaign.

I can see the name of the campaign, and when I click on it I can see all the saved games. But when I actually click on one of the game names, two strange things happen. First, there is no picture that appears next to the game name in the list; it's blank. Second, the game gives me the "Loading Mission" page, and then hangs.

So I used the Cuban Missile Crisis uninstaller, and tried again to get to my campaign. Still the same thing happens. I CAN, however, start a NEW IT campaign with no problems

Any idea how I can rescue my saved campaign from the jaws of death??

To Diggy1818,

I wish gamers would lay off the mods until they have finished GR/DS/IT then follow my save game instruction and back it all up when it is working right. Some mods you install over write files and this sound like the cases here. Most mods say if there going to over write and ask for you to click a yes box to continue.

Are you running windows XP where you can go back to a date before the mod was installed?

Yeah, I knew the mods overwrite files sometimes, but one night I was sick of doing schoolwork and started doing stupid stuff. I think maybe my brains got fried.

I do have XP, and I did try restoring the system but it didn't work.

But the lucky thing is that even though I can't access any of the specific saved games in my campaign, I WAS able to choose my campaign, and then choose the level I was on. Then I just restarted that level, with the same previously unlicked specialists and the soldiers with the ability points the way I had allotted them.

There still no picture appearing of the level map when I choose one from IT. I won't be using anymore mods before investigating them a little.

Thanks for the post, Snipe.

To Diggy1818,

Lol had a brain fart did we /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Buddy did I give you my save game instruction and uninstall some time back? If it was you then just uninstall and reinstall and place the stuff you saved back to there right location and start again. When you have finished GR/DS/IT then follow my save game again and keep it in a safe place. If it wasn't you then below is what you need to do. If you need further help you know where to come /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

<font color="#00FF00">Save GR Games</font>

start/all programs/ accessories/window explorer/c:drive/programes file/red storm entertainment/ghost recon

1- Save folder inside data is used for saving your
keys for the game that you have set up.

2- Go into your mods folder, and take out the save
folder from MP1, MP2, and Origmiss.

3- Once you reinstall, just put these back in their
respective folders(overwriting the new ones) and
you'll be set.

Also copy all the files with the .xml extension and the missionstats.htm on the ghost recon folder.

If after restoring the saved folders/files, ghost recon don't work as expected (this can happen if you change the hardware after the backup), delete the options.xml in the ghost recon folder. Then start the game, go to the options and re-configure as needed

GR saved games after reinstall

If you backed up to CD after restore you have to access the properties of the files you had backed up and uncheck the read only option.

<font color="#00FF00">GR Uninstall</font>

First of go to your add/remove program and uninstall GR/UBI and then follow below and delete the GR/UBI folders

1-start/all programs/accessories/windows explorer/my computer/local disk(c)/program files/red storm entertainment

2-start/all programs/accessories/windows explorer/my computer/local disk(c)/program files/UBI.com

To start from scratch uninstall all of GR and UBI and at your own risk do this but first back it up.

(1) start/run and type this: regedit and press ok

Up the top click file/export and on the pop up window down the bottom where it says (save as type) click the drop down arrow and click on ALL FILES. Then select your location and save.

repeat step (1)

1- hkey_current_user/software look for any red storm entertainment folders and delete along with any UBI soft folders

now do this:

2- hkey_local_machine/software look for red storm entertainment folders and delete along with any UBI soft and UBI soft entertainment folders and delete

now do this:

3- hkey_LocalMachine/ software/ Microsoft/ windows/ current version/ uninstall directory there should be a folder here named "{D89EF3B3-6F17-4665-B7A9-A4235A6DC787}" with some Ghost Recon info in it so delete only the ghost recon related info.
