I hope not.

I want AC game set in history, not stealth political thriller from present, for this I'm playing Splinter cell.

AC3, AC4 and Rogue had "real-world" sections outside the Animus that are supposed to take place in present time. AC3's way of explaining these was pretty clever I thought, considering they usually use the Animus as an excuse to explain away all the more game-y aspects (like dying as desynchronization). In AC3 they had Desmond use a camera with an ear piece that he could use to communicate with his comrades. It was still a little clumsy though, since Desmond could actually die in combat and then respawn moments later.

Technically speaking all the MD since AC3 all games are set in the present year. AC1 was set in the year 2012, five years ahead of its 2007 release. AC2-ACRevelations despite being released on 2009-10-11 are all set in 2012. Then AC3 was set and released in 2012 and they used the Mayan Doomsday thing(because why the hell not) to give it a finale.

Black Flag was set and released in 2013, one year later. Unity and Rogue are set in 2014, one year later...whatever comes next will also be set a year later.

OP obviously means an Assassin in the living world... not the MD taking place 2013/14 etc.

My answer, doubt it. AC hinges on the Animus.
