IL2 Multi play needs a player vote option like most newer online games have. The host puts up a yes or no question and players vote. Change maps , boot the team killer, ect, ect. Y-yes N-no, ect with a tally.

Just a thought .......it would inhance online ply.

I don't think this would be a good feature.

Witness if you will the realms of America's Army.

You got some guy who you don't like, or is using tactics you don't like, even though it is perfectly within the realms of the "rules". They initiate a votekick, and most just go with the flow, and the poor sap gets kicked off the server for no other reason than this guy or that guy doesn't like him.

It's childish, ridiculous, and downright rude. I really hate those kind of features.

Host shouldn't haveta ask about booting teamkillers.
If the host can poll a vote then the host can read the chat.

Me too, I do hate these "features" which would bring a quick "clanification" of FB!

But an automatic quick system for the team killers would be good (like the jail in AA).

Its not childish .....nor have anything to do with Americas great Army. It in all mainsteam multi play games........get out in the world and look around. Its there. I can see how the guys that would get booted would probly childishly call it names and not like it .

Accidents happen and if the host likes to fly like I do you can't watch eveyone nor stay in the chat window. Typing always gets me killed. LOL. It would make it easyer on the host and better gameplay for those flying in the server.
Changing map vote would be cool.

Should be a simple mod....most all muti play games have it...........

With most games that have vote kick they can be disabled at the server.

FB/Aces does need a much better multiplayer setup though. For a start an in game server browser would be nice.

its a 'counter strike' thinger...players work a map to death (not to mention each other) then vote to change maps and then vote on which map to do next ...then continue the wanton carnage-without-a-cause...yawn.

They did that in Battlefield 1942 as well. Its really done no good at all, and if anything its done worse. For example, all that happens in BF42 is that someone initiates a votekick on a perfectly legit player who has killed them a lot, and I myself have been votekicked off of servers for no reason at all.

Even when you put up a vote kick, it is almost impossible to get enough people to vote, and sometimes people even just hit "Yes" just to get the stupid window off the screen. I am guilty of this one or two times I admit http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif .

So I just think this would complicate things...

Perfectly legit idea though...

Having voting is good, with 99% of online games (apart from Il2 cause its multiplayer isn't really very well conceived) you can turn them off at the server. At WGN we run a dozen servers and theres not one apart from IL2 that you cannot enable or disable voting for either player kicks or maps changes. As it happens vote kick is disabled for BF1942 but also things like PTK and FTK are also good and enabled.

For those who don't know PTK and FTK are punish TK and Forgive TK. If you've been wrongfully TK'ed you can hit FTK (usually on as server default) and it extends the spawn time of the offending player and removes 2 points. If its an accidental kill you type in FTK and it tells the server the TK was an accident and no penalties are incured and the team isn't affected.

Autoteam balance (another option that can be turned on or off) would also be good. How many times have people joined a server and the teams are incredibly unbalanced. Autoteam balance means that teams are equal.

Managable ban, kick and cheating server options would also be nice as well as map rotations, plane limitations, weather and time of day controls all in a GUI would be great.

I really think BoB, if not aces/PF should get a much better multiplayer options, both player and server side.

Just because there are negatives to them doesn't mean they might not be useful in the right servers/circumstances. They work in all other multiplayer games and at the end of the day IL2:FB Aces, PF and BoB are no different.

Yes yes yes!!!! Its soo frustrating to see people joining the game without having a look at the balancing of the sides and just joining their favourite side. It would be really usefull to have the game blocking the side thats already having two or three people more than the other, adjustable in the options ofcourse.

And we really miss the option to limit the number of people joining one particular base and thus limited the planes of one type, after some asking around I still didnt get an usefull answer about whether such an option exists or not... It should be an easy to set number in the missionbuilder. This would be great for creating more historically correct planesets.
