If you look up what the Germans used with the 111 it gives reference to 700+kilos. Is that the warhead weight or the overall weapon weight, how does that compare to the Russian weapon?

Flying an iL2T it takes two torpedos to sink a type 7 Destroyer.

Flying the 111 it takes two passes, four torpedos total to sink that same ship.

It would seem that even if the German torps where of lesser explosive power they would still sink that ship. Given that their spread is very close.

Both 111 torps drop at the same time and you do see two wakes in the water.

Game glitch?

I thought you could only fit 2 torps on a He-111 anyway? Then did you mean it takes 2 HE-111's (4 torps altogether) to sink a Type 7?

Yes, it requires two passes with the He111 to sink the type7. Which equals 4 torps total, two each pass. Were as the iL2T also requires two passes but only 2 torps.

What the heck. Bump for arguments sake. This is odd to say the least. I would like to know more about the explosive content of the torps.

Bump.....I light of the fact that skip-bombing appears to be more effective than torps.

Destroyers are relatively light vessels, displacement mostly between 1000 and 2000 tons. They're practically unarmored (except guns and other things), only 3-10mm hull strength usually. One torpedo should be enough, not 2 or 4.

This discussion is moot. As long as you can use torpedos like iron bombs, and don't have to pay heed to the very narrow speed and altitude parameters for a successful torpedo drop in water, it really doesn't matter. Torpedos simply aren't modelled correctly in any way shape or form.
