I'm a born and raised New Englander with New England parents and I am considered barely a Yankee (48%)! CK is more of a Yankee than I am! Sheesh! I think there is something wrong with this picture. But I like it how it tells you what areas the phrases are most often used.
But then again, people have asked me if I was from West Virginia once since I used "y'all" when I asked them if they wanted something to drink...

GRINDERS FOREVER!!!

Now, I wonder how common the terms 'cabinet' (milkshake) or 'gravy' (spagetti sause) are...

As I said. My parents were born and raised in the New England area... well, father is really from NJ but that's close enough. But funny enough, I don't have much of the local accent (dropping r's and replacing it with -ah's and such)

Or maybe I can somewhat pick up a local dialect if I stay in the region for a few weeks? I went to Houston last year for 10 days and I think that's where I picked up the y'all and this past summer, I went to England and Ireland for 2 weeks and I keep on using bloody as my main profanity. (shrugs) Some people are just like that.

Age has nothing to do with it . :)

It is a word that starts with F , and isn't considered polite to say most places . Think about it and I'm sure that you will get it . ;)

BTW , I don't do accents very well , but I do tend to start talking in a sing-song way without noticing , if I'm around people who do . Like the way the Irsh talk , or some First Nation People .

Yep....not bad Kreeden : it's called the RAFFLESIA. Like you said it's a parasite that can grow up to 1.5 m wide.
It takes its food from the jungle vine, to which it is attached by long thin threads and it lives (you said it) in the rain forests of south-east Asia. The only thing bad about it is that it smells like rotten meat.....huh !
