I found some favour with the G6_Late and now prefer it over the G14 I used before (exept for high alt fights).
Its lightweight so you get full use of the engine and its pretty manouverable.

It's easy to escape from a La in any sort of turning (horizontal and vertical) but avoid straight flying - the La is ways faster, even the La-5.

G14 does better speed but still is inferior to the La7.

Fighting Yaks is much harder. They are even lighter than the 109 and so outturn you easily. I think it's difficult to bring down any of the Yak-9 variants (including the Yak3 here). If you got one on ya shiny metal *** better do some hopping any try to make the Yak overshoot.

IMO

if you want to turn with them and trick them in vicious energy fights, the 109G2 is the best current choice...

To use BnZ tactics in late servers, the 109K4 is still very good

you can give them a hard time in the others if you are flying with a mate in a rotten...

Im talking about online, seems the yaks and la7s offline the pilots bail from light hits but online im having trouble even with an alt and energy advantage even with very good wingroot hits and wing shots from the 108 cannon

did you try to fire your guns separately?

firing all guns at once can make you think you did hit while only one of your weapons was really hitting...

on some 109 the ballistics of guns and mgs are very, very different... And while they are making nice pyro effects on target, mg are close to useless...

try to practice using gun only, so you'll get the grasp of firing with it...

I found a good way to survive:

Take off, fly straight and climb up to 500m. Then make a 180-degree turn, throttle back, lower gears and flaps and ask the ground controle if you are clear for landing.
But it only works if the airbase is covers with flak. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Now serious:
In my view the only way is to disable the automatic radiator. This "feature" very successfully prefents you from flying fast if you want to escape/attack/what ever (throttle at 110% + WEP).

Hoarmurath yes wep 1 and 2 sep, they seem to take a good 6 direct 108 cannon hits to the inner wing and wingroot for me, and you can fire 20mm 250.0 convergence at them till you run out, usually just getting a pk, the f2 and 4 you run out of ammo to down a yak and la7 but the La5 seems to come apart very quickly from the 108 cannon. I was just wondering what you people are getting when fighting the yaks and la7

IMO La's break easily. Yaks are doable. But those friggin LaGG's should be banned until they are fixed, their DM is beyond ridiculous.

Please fix (in order of importance): LaGG-3 durability, P-39 climb, MG151/20 ammo count in 109's, downgrade Rata a bit, fix G6 weight, give Emil's automation 200rpm more (now it keeps rpm's at 2300rpm with 110% throttle while 2500rpm is safe), downgrade 190 roll, change B-239 speedometer to metric system. More to follow, perhaps.

from my experience, a LA7 won't get down easily even with mk108... a single shell isn't enough most of the time, you have to achieve two or more mk108 hits in the same burst in order to be sure it will be crippled...

hitting it once, and then once later, and then another time won't do as much damage as the cumulative damage of several shells from the same burst...

well haven't flown in 1.11 yet cause I think its probably like 1.1 (with exception with the rudder) but last time I checked, against a yak 3... its possible to run like a bugger and get em, but u gotta get it right the first time cause by the time you have the distance to climb and do a rope a dope manuever, u will be frying eggs on ur motor and havin breakfast.

La7's dont' outrun....
don't outturn....
Just die, fly towards some other friends for help... open the canopy and yell at the La7, and maybe throw ur coat at it cause ... thats about what you can do if you don't have the alt advantage.

Thats for me anyway. but like I said i don't really fly anymore, been like a month since i flew online seriously.

The Bf109F2 can handle the La7 quite well. Only if the La Pilot wants to TnB that is...

RGR that Eyesblack you and I did alot of flying together in the 109`s on team and against each other always great flying with you.

And don`t worry about trying 1.11 it`s the same and like you I`m not flying much on-line either, have also noticed that on UBI at normal peak times, what used to be 100 to 150 ppl with 20+ games up has turned into 4 games with 50 or less ppl, of those only 20 to 25 are playing. Since patch X.

they all went to HL ,
