Figuratively speaking of course.

From the upcoming Wartime Command by Maddox/Codemasters. Looks good enough to kiss. Do you think they will use the same terrain engine for BoB?

Makes sense, development- and resource-wise, but I don't know how these things work. Of course, this game takes place in ever WW2 theatre EXCEPT Britain...but I'm thinking about the textures and models and such...

Wartime Command also has lovely grass, moving with the wind...depending on draw distance, imagine the grass being blasted as you run up your Spit...

Looks pretty nice. I think Oleg said BoB's terrain will use a more basic version of the Wartime Command engine.

I hope they use similar engine not only for land but for objects as well:

and I hope we get our updates in the same manner they do:

I've been watching development of this for a while now and am really looking forward to it's release.

Hope it'll live up to expectations!!

Guess they gave battlefield command a new name. Looks descent but its a rts 3rd person view only sim, like a copy of the early 90s game operation barbarossa but with improved graphics.

It does look good but I probally wouldnt buy it because they get boring very quickly for me and im not a fan of the diablo, commandos, suddenstrike C&C view style games. As far as strategy it doesnt matter just how fast you use the shortcut key commands and how fast you click the mouse.

Now if it was a massive multiplayer wwiiol style game with these graphics that would make millions.

Soounds like you've played it?

I think it will play more like Close Combat, not Diablo...

I seen a bunch of videos of gameplay on gamespot when it was called battlefield command, the intro video isnt real gameplay just a cgi animation that doesnt represent the actual game play, the screenshots are from the game perspective view

The videos of gameplay show a huge menu interface on the bottom
of the screen like the games i mentioned above and closecombat too.

still it will be the best game of that viewstyle which i dont care for much.

What I think would be cool is a flightsim with ai groundwar going on, having to belly land a spitfire or 109 in one of them grassy fields getting out of the plane and having to get back to friendly lines without being killed or picked up by transport rescues

I will definately be buying it(if it's any good, that is). I think one of the more indepth WWII strategy games out there is Blitzkrieg. It's not perfect, and the reviews weren't stellar, but I thought it was pretty good. It's a welcome break from the C&C-style,arcadish strategy games.

Oleg's initial statements about BoB was that they would be using some elements of that new terrain engine but modified for the flight sim perspective rather than the down low on the ground perspective.

It really does look like FB taken to the next level really...
