How many different Il2 games are they making?

Battle of Britain and Pacific fighters?

two?

But that'll be bad if they don't all work like AEP for forgotten battles.

It'll split the community in 1/3 and less people are going to play each game.

Not to mention the smaller expansion packs for us off-line players. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Battle of Britain is a completely new sim, using a more sophisticated game engine written from scratch.

Pacific Fighters is not an expansion, it is a stand alone sim based in the Pacific Theatre. It does however use basically the same core programming as IL2/FB/AEP, so there remains a question about how much existing content will be carried over to Pacific Fighters. So far it looks like a lot of planes (particularly for the Allies, where a lot of planes served in both the Pacific and in Europe), but there've been no firm hints regarding maps.

If it was all limited to one game engine Pacific would be nothing but a re-skinned IL-2. Oleg said Pacific is going to concentrate more on bombers being flyable and is going to include a/c carriers. Both of these are either very, very difficult w/ the current engine or damn near impossible(from what I have read). The adjustments made to the Pacific engine will correct the current probs w/ the IL-2 engine.(hopefully including the high altitude FM ,but not sure)) "IF" I am correct, this is by far the best way to approach the dev of these new sims.
