Just get closer than you are now and pull more leed than you think you need firing short burst so to correct your aim, and practice it over and over again thats the only advice that seems to work http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Good Luck

Try also to aim particularly vulnerable parts of the planes, like the engine, wing roots, etc...It is difficult, so just be patient, but once you manage to master this, you will find that it´s not that difficult, and you also will be using much less ammo, allowing to keep on fighting for longer times.

Check that you have the AEP v2.01 patch because it was impossible to shoot anything down with an LW aircraft before that!

v1.22 was alright, though.

Get close, REAL close.

You should be 150 meters or less for an accurate Mk-108 shot. Match your wings with the target, and pull to get some lead, then let rip with a burst. .5 to 1.0 seconds of fire with the cannons oughta do it.

Fire off bursts of the MG's if you arent sure.

Practice aiming with the gun sight. Don't hose.

Think of your plane as if it were a bullet. Fly to intercept the target as if you were almost going to collide. Use the gunsight to predict future relative possition. Extend that possition with the bullets at the right moment.

I like to shoot one second bursts and no more, and practice one second bursts. Only one second. No more than one second. Understand the one second part? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

For tracking shots:
I try to shoot a one second burst then look at the results, then correct by aiming with the gunsight, then shoot another one second burst.

Snap shot (http://mysite.verizon.net/res0l0yx/Snap%20shot.htm)

Snap shot too (http://mysite.verizon.net/res0l0yx/A%20little%20late.htm)

It is very helpful to run some gunnery practice sessions with the QMB. I use 4 early IL2s and avoid any tracking shots. If I try to shoot the IL2s down from the sides, aiming at the cockpit, then my gunnery percentage goes up during on-line play.

i assume you are saying you can shoot ok in other planes but not the 109

two things the 109's need when shooting are well adjusted elevator trim and a generous kick of right rudder if you have any throttle above idle
