I've seen a few movies on this board lately. It gave me inspiration to try making my own.

The movie is captured with fraps (www.fraps.com (http://www.fraps.com)) and edited in Windows Movie Maker 2. It's about 4 minutes long and file size 16MB, resolution 320x240.

The entire movie is made in guncam view. Why? Because it's cool! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif It's also very easy to make. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Nice one m8!

One suggestion (there's always one isn't there?) - try to use a storyline in your next video /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I loved the guncam view but it is quite limited from a creative perspective /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I look forward to the next one /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Wow nice, how'd you get rid of the arrows pointing to other ac?
Why Andrea Bocelli?
He's good but i was surprised to hear this song.

Very professional looking. I especially love the operetic style music in tune with the acrobatic feel of planes being shreded by uber ammo. I look forward to seeing more!

Thanks a lot for your comments. I'm glad you liked it. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

All the tracks which I used were full real and in single player. Cockpit on, no icons etc, and definately no "über" ammo, Bearcat. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif I switched off the cockpit view for the movie's sake. It's the only way to get the guncam view.

I was not in a creative mood today, that's why I chose the easy solution. Just one view, no panning. Simple. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif If I were to make a "real" movie, I need a story. Maybe I can figure out something an other time.

I watched the movie Fighting Irish. It's very nicely put together. That requires a lot more work (and creativity) than I did.

Yes, go ahead Oberst, upload it wherever you like. Thanks!

Aaargh! Another one saying I've used "über" ammo as I write. What is "über" ammo anyway? Realistic gunnery unchecked or the Mk108? If the latter, yes I've used it on some clips. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

D*mn you Raspball... We played that very song on my dad's funeral in May 2002. You just brought back a truckload of memories... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I think the video was really nice, keep 'em coming (but with some different musicselections please). I'm curious though as to what convergence you're using. You open up from what looks like 400-500 meters, and you smoke the bogeys! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Rasball,

Great first attempt. I always like B&W Gun Cams and these look very realistic. I also personally like Andreas songs and it went great with this B&W Clip, continue with your good work.

Your guncam video is now on my Site. Follow the link in my sigblock to enter the site, then you will see a flashing arrow on the homepage 'pointing' to the location of your video, noting that it is the 'Newest GunCam film, August2003'.

Thanks OberstWiley!

Sorry about the choice in music Ketalar. It won't be the same song if I were to make another movie. Guns and cannons are set to 150m. When do I fire up? Frankly, I don't know. I haven't used icons for ages. When I see hit flashes and a smoking engine or perhaps a broken wing, I know I have a good distance. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif It might look like I'm shooting from quite a distance in this 320x240 movie. It certainly looks a lot closer viewing the tracks in-game. I mostly used the normal zoom in the movie, full zoom on a few clips.

Hi Raspball,

I take it you turned off the crosshairs when replaying the track... /i/smilies/16x16_robot-wink.gif

Excellent beginning! Some very nice gunnery displayed there. I hope you will be turning out more movies and fine-tuning your camera work and effects, I'm very impressed. I do have a comment that the noise ("worms" crawling on the film so to speak) looks quite digital. It might be limited by the software you were using, dunno, I just noticed it.

I watched the movie with the music turned off. I feel guncam clips are better, more authentic when silent. Have you ever watched the old Luftwaffe training school guncam clips? Your film reminded me of them. /i/smilies/16x16_robot-happy.gif

Cheers,
Mike
