I have played all the previous R6 games up through BlackThorn and due to my computers low horsepower will be playing R6-3 on XBOX. I have a few observations on the new direction of the series. First, the graphics, sound, and voice commands are beyond excellent. This ands a new level of immersion to the series that the flat old graphics of the previous series could never do. However, that realism and immersion is being broken by several flaws. No rate of fire selection, you have got to be kidding! There has never, ever, ever been a clancy game without this option. Realism slipping...must ..continue. Next, this 4 shot kill health meter is killing the tension of the game. No longer am I gripping the controller, holding my breath as I assault a room, to the contrary I find myself calmly standing in the middle of a firefight taking careful aim droping one tango after another. Must ...hold...on. The retical is far too forgiving. I very much like the new system of pinpoint crosshairs when moving, but does it need to be the size of a coffee mug when you stop moving! Also when injured it has no effect on accuracy or movement! Realism.....lost... must play Ghost Recon.

ahhhh you've answered one of my fears..... so there's no difference on accuracy and movement when injured? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif wheres the fun in tracking injured dogs? and wheres the xtra care needed when accurately targeting/moving when injured? These are factors I love on GR.

I haven't played the demo yet so I'm hoping it wont be too much of a bummer. that and the lack of rate of fire worry me the most. I absolutely hate burst fire, I like single or fully auto!

Are you playing calmly on Elite? If so, your obviously too good!

I was afraid of this...When I saw the boonie caps, camo paint, and bandannas I was like why in the world would elite CT operatives run around a building in this crap!Ubi why have you forsaken realism?

but i am saddened by some of the changes as well...i was hoping for more of the original 2 games and some raven

but its more of a mix of splintercell, gr and sofII

but its ok...i still love it...just hope it doesnt give devs a trend to follow with consolizing great pc games

I was afraid that this thread will be filled with bull thats not thought out clearly.

Why would you want single or burst? No longer does your gun's barrel open up into a black hole and sprays bullets everywhere. The new recticle system is MUCH more realistic then the old blossem ones. Didn't you watch that video that was posted here?

If you want one hit kill, go upgrade your PC. You can get a graphics card for 50 bucks. Im sure you havn't beaten the demo without getting hit once. Whats the fun of walking into the sewer, to only be shot once and the mission is over? If you die in this version, its all over. Sounds fun to me (sarcasm)

no, the no-effect-on-moving-when-injured comment is completely false. i played the demo, and he definatwely does change movement. When i walked, ding went into a limp for me, and movements were more sharp and not as smooth. There is definately a difference

gandorth i think you are missing the point of some of us

the reticle is more realistic on the run now, but not on the stand still...if you want complete realism, you should be small on the run, and small on distance targets, then large on close up targets, but that would be too difficult to code...but being large standing still helps people with bad aim...i have no problem with that, but all you have to do is aim in the General Area of the target, if you get their head within the reticle, even if its not the center...you get a kill...but i am not complaining about the reticle...i liked the classic better, but this one fits a console more...you dont have to Stop to shoot

on the rate of fire...it has nothing to do with most of us having to be more accurate...i PREFER, shooting 1 bullet at a time...on GR you will never see me shooting in burst or in full auto, unless i use a Full Auto only gun...if i want to shoot more than 1 bullet, i keep pulling the trigger real fast

the thing that compinsates for this issue is giving us a ton of more ammo, has nothing to do with reticle...if you look at early screens they kept this in the game even with the reticle...but took it out and gave us a bunch more ammo instead

also, not trying to argue...but you did say the Reticle is more "realistic", but yet not having a Rate of Fire is?...most of the assault weapons in the game in real life have a rate of fire

When I look at the reticle, it's the same as could be set in options on Raven Shield under "autoaim" settings.

What I like about this new reticle is it shows you in advance how accurate or how wide the "spread" is going to be.

Whilst I don't like the lack of a rate of fire switcher, I've found it really easy to decide on the fly whether I want a burst or single shot. If I press the trigger lightly with a quick pull-off, it fires a single shot. If I pull off slower it fires a burst and if I depress fully, it works in full-auto. Not perfect but so far it's worked every time

true wimpy...but not all the weapons in the game work like that...the SR-2 for example...is only single shot period

and some of those assault weapons dont allow full auto in real life, but do in game

forget Ghost Recon, it has NO weapon representation on the screen!!

The reticule you say is forgiving. At least there's no
auto-aim for your incompetent a*#. Yeah, we know (B717)
that you use it in Raven Shield on da' PC. Have the auto all the way jacked up so you don't even have to look at a tango.

Oh-oh, or do you prefer the bad guys in Ghost Recon who snipe from 150 meters away with an AK. Oh thats right, I see why you side with Ghost Recon, that game DOES have
auto-aim, dweeb.

Sh*t I'm even a newbie here an' I'm clownin' :P
