I originally posted this in your thread but i wnated you to see it so I figured Id post it by itself.

Say Uber D I was thinking last night.. since you have been tearing into this whole FB mission builder for some time I figured you would be the person to ask. Is there any way we could implement triggers into the FMB using the UQMG... or how hard would it be to set something like tha? Woulsd it be harder than making the templates for the UQMG. Im just curious. Since you have put this great piece of software together you obviously know your way around some code... also...... is there any way that we can put skins on stationary objects...? I know it cant be done now but just how far fetched is the notion? Should I not even dream?

What do you mean by triggers? I am assuming you mean an event that will cause some type of result... like for example, if you destroy something, then something else appears... If that is the case, that is not supported in the IL-2 engine. A long time ago some people suggested triggers for IL-2 missions, but Oleg did not want that included in the engine at the time.

Not only it would take some major review of the IL-2 engine, he felt it was unrealistic. Triggers work well for space simulation sims, like the classic X-Wing series from Lucas Arts, but not the same for a WW2 flight sim. I am convinced there is a use for it, like in Jane's WW2 Fighters, however, there is little you can't do with the FMB.

Oleg's stance when IL-2 was first being tested was that like the real-world, everything in IL-2 has a level or randomization. So, if the enemy sees another enemy, it will engage when proper. Of course you can assign targets, and that is especially the case for ground attack missions. Also if you try experimenting with the objective (target) system that assigns win conditions in the FMB. You can create interesting combinations of objectives that almost makes your mission feel like it is triggered... for example, assign a bridge to be protected for 20 minutes, then have the same bridge be destroyed within 40 minutes. That means to achieve the first objective you have to make sure the bridge stays up for 20 minutes, perhaps because you must assure a train with refugees is going through it... then you gotta blow it up to keep the badies from catching up with the refugees... perhaps an enemy train in pursuit... it is just a matter of imagination.

As it relates to UQMG, I appreciate your comments, as always, but I am not sure I can achieve this nirvana you ask... well, maybe in the future when properly motivated by beer and cheeze-its... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Unfortunately, no, you cannot assign skins to static objects.

I'm a offline player mostly and was basicly using FMB most of the time. But since using Uberdemon Mission Builder it's the Best... I'm totaly HOOKED. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
The Trigger idea would be a excellent Mission Builder Tool... if it could be added to the game.
Such as adding or taking away Enemy Shipping, Ground Units or Aircraft when a certain event has happened or not happened.
Great Idea Anyway. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Maybe a possibility of including UQMG into Hyperlobby as a plugging or vis versa? that would be nice also, this would be an Ultimate tool http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

hard to organize? possible to enter in contact between you two.
