I got my 29" monitor working for a few minutes before losing the high-voltage section... I'm hoping to get that fixed this weekend.

While I had it working, I played a few tracks in FB.

What I discovered was odd... Depth perception.

This is a CRT monitor. I have the refresh rate at 120hz, using 1024x768@32 bit color. In-game settings are "Excellent".

For some strange reason, in-game renderings appear to have depth. It really makes no sense.

I can't get the OSD to come up on the monitor, so I don't know if there are miore adjustments, but I DO know that miore is a problem with the monitor laying on its side (I was testing and had it set on its side while I tested). I'm assuming the shadow mask is loose and is causeing the miore problem.

What I'm wondering...

Is the shadow mask causing the depth perception?
Is the high refresh rate causing it? (I'm accustomed to 60hz)
Did I buy a magic monitor?

Very odd.

<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">
Specs:
More expensive than the dining set.
Less expensive than the couch.
Smaller than the dishwasher.
Just as noisy as the refridgerator.
Faster than the cars' computer.
Less practical than the car.
Face it, people who put thier computer specs in thier signature are pretty ****ing wierd.

Its the shadow mask. I found some online research papers discussion depth perception and moire patterns.

Now if I could put it to use as a marketable product, I'd make money from all you sim freaks http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Its very interesting to see a game in 3 dimensions. I can see how those 3d glasses can be so popular.
