http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gifI`ve finally completed my new updated ART site. I will update as and when i have time as there are MANY more pictures I`d like to display.

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gifPlease be WARNED, the FANTASY SECTIONS are for MATURE VIEWERS and will have GRAPHIC VIOLENCE and NUDITY. So those who don`t want BLOOD in FB probably wouldn`t want to see the Fantasy section for example.

If you are at all likely to be offended by this, DO NOT GO TO THE FANTASY SECTIONS, OK? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-mad.gifJust stay in the other sections.

Enough of that waffle. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

I will be working to improve this over time.

Many thanks to Dreyer for all his Web help!

Also reminiscent of PC game called 'XIII'

It is a UBI product BtW ... Your illustrations carry emotion extremely well and as far as childrens books go - that term applies to material written for adolescent ages as well.. However a new idea comes to mind.. If you are familiar with the PC game 'XIII' or Thirteen as it is otherwise known, it is an FPS using an animation style similar to the comic strip genre and is rather interesting to see in a video game. Perhaps a flight sim or 'graphic magazine' based on a WWII or WWI comic strip character of the period would be of interest to someone. There is a rather large convention in Calif. on Jul 22nd I think called Comicon, where the illustrators and designers from Marvel and DC and all the others convene to show artwork and unveil new projects,,perhaps if the same sort of gatherings occur where you live - you might garner some serious interest.

what i always notice most about Seafire's work.... how he blends colors & uses techniques that seem to induce motion. kinda a blury type motion. i love it.

oh and seafire.....about that idea i had.
the TX guys passed this along to me as a fix to our online squadron store. you might want to look into this. i'l telling ya they'd fly off the shelves. i can think of 3 i'd buy right now!

here the link. they can put it on ANYTHING.
they do coffe mugs, t-shirts, clocks, even ladies panties. (for the female IL-2 Pilot)
here the link.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Very nice indeed! I have always liked your first work with the warriors fighting in the sky. That is definitely my favorite.

A speck of dirt on your windscreen could turn into an enemy fighter in the time it took to look round and back again. A little smear on your goggles might hide the plane that was coming in to kill you.

Dude, wow!!

I've been meaning to ask you about whether you had a site up with these pics coz they are really awesome.

I used to be into depicting fantasy stuff, and historical combat scenarios (did up some Slaine strips, and a couple of Judge Dredd strips, and the like).

My style, or tastes, were very much in the same vein as yours seem to be with the more "intense" the image appears the better.

Man, I need to pick up that pencil again some day!!!

@ Extreme-One : Thnx. There was a time I never thought it was going to happen.

@ Leadspitter: You`re the first one to ask that interestingly.

The smilie pictures like P38, I16 take about an hour. Some as little as half an hour.

The more serious `Hardcore` and `Coming for the Patch` take 2 hours to maybe 3 tops.

Sword and sorcery fantasy `black eye` takes about 2 hours.

The most time is taken up in preparation and getting Reference material. FB is my prime reference for nearly all the plane pics. The Fantasy stuff is just imagination for reference..

As about myself... It`s a long story, my art abilities should have been used much earlier than now. It`s a little sad really, but my Art never gave up on me at least. I may put some details in `About me` on the website one day.

Seafire, great work mate....as a boy I attended (is that a word?) art school (high school) here in Croatia...almost all ppl in my generation were talented (some of them are very successful artists today in their late 20s http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )....we were doing sketches, paintings of ppl, landscapes etc....we were very enthusiastic young ppl...but few ppl now (including me) working as video editors, graphic designers, etc., but not as illustrators or artists, painters. All beacuse of money...only few painters here could earn enough for comfortable life....

keep up the good work

I read 2000AD from 1990ish to 1998ish (didn't renew my subscription coz I wuz travelling too much).

I was a great fan of Dermot Power's work, and others with similar styles (I forget their names, been a while since I thought about it). I think he did some Slaine stuff ("Treasures of Britain" I think he worked on?), and he did some cool Dredd stuff.

And I really liked Christos Achilleos' stuff. He did some really nice amazon figures, and some cool barbarians and orcs, etc.

But I was starting to get really put off by the trend of using computer enhanced artwork, instead of just the raw paint. Guys like Ezquerra, for example, really went the full hog on the computerized stuff in his Dredd strips he did from about '95-'98 or so.

I dunno what it's like now, but I reckon I might just renew that subscription!! (wonder if you can get back issues on CD ROM.....?)

Keep the artwork coming!!
