As a 15 year old playing this "game" or obcession if you will, i was amazed that so many adults play and immerse their selves in this incredible sim. So i was wondering how many younger ( around my age) play this game. No offense is meant by this thread, please dont flame to much http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I would imagine most of the younger crowd are playing FB rather than browsing this board. That may be why there are few responses.

I'm an old guy of 34 (soon to be 35). But on behalf of my 9 year old son, who actually started to play this game when he was 8, yes younger folks do enjoy this game too!

By the way, he can play the game with no externals and cockpit always on, and does make kills online. Sorry for wounding any older person's pride (including mine http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif)

Hi Maverick!
No, I am not a youngster, but I am training my 7 year old son in the art of shooting me down. We play CFS2 together on a LAN (the older PC won't run FB). The little guy is getting pretty good, and you can expect to add him to your ranks soon online.

Necrobaron,
You are a model of what a young man SHOULD be. I'll not make an issue of your age, because you contribute to this community in a much more mature way than most of us older guys, and you are to be commended for that. ~S~

My birthday is tomorrow, BTW. I'll be 43.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

necro,

I will now share with you the wisdom that my father shared with me when I was your age. It has stayed with me through times of triumph and defeat, raging anger and quaking fear.

When things seem a little out of perspective, I just remember the day the Old Master Sergeant caught me admiring my new crop of chest hair (it was in the '70s, okay?)in the bathroom mirror and barked "I got more hair in my ears than you have on your chest!"

And he STILL does.

Cheers

Hope i dont lose any respect (if i have any http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif) because im a 15 year old noob with bad vocabulary. By the way, i have fell in love with ww2 eversince i have heard the name. the tactics, weapons, advance in technology, and the nationalism is all very invigorating. This game and what goes on in this forum have only progressed that interest. On a last note id like to thank all that have responded to this question. oh yeah, ive havnt been able to post because i was at school.

Just turned 43, but still feel like a 20 year old http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif My wife thinks I'm just a big kid at heart though, wasting my time playing these games.

You young whipper-snappers don't know how good you have it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif You probably don't even remember a time when there weren't computer games. I started out by playing military board games when I was ten. The first aircraft simulation game, if you can call it that, that I can remember was a board game called "Luftwaffe" by Avalon Hill. I actually met the designer of "Luftwaffe" at a gaming convention last year. God I'm old http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif But I'll probably continue to play games of one sort or another until I die. I'll never get too old to have fun.

Glad to meet all you young pups! Tsisqua, Happy Birthday old man http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

I don't think football and bicycles existed when your great-grandparents were kids. I wonder if they think you should have been playing with sticks and rocks.

Baldie, Baldie, Baldie!

We agree to disagree! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif What I am trying to say is that computers are not quite healthy for young kids to spend hours in front of. They are growing, they need a lot of motion to develop into healthy individuals. Sitting for hours in front of comps will turn them into fat little slobs. Than again, chewing on fatburgers will do the job as well.

I'm also quite sure that my grandparents had a little bit more advanced toys than rocks. When do you think they lived? In stone age? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif

I said "great grandparents", so yeah, compared to modern society, they were in the stone-age http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

My great-grandparents would have been children in 1870ish. I don't imagine they had many toys... probably some boulders and a dead cow.

When I turned 26 I thought I was turning 28 and now I've been 28 years old for several years. Imagine my surprise when I realized I'll be turning 30 in May. I guess I'll never know what it feels like to be 26, 27 or 29.

I guess if I really cared I would've done the frickin' math.

Hey, I've been 35 for 15 years now...

with all this practice, I've gotten very good at it; I'd be a complete noob at being fifty.

Cheers

Rajvosa -

I noticed your sig. A fellow VW enthusiast! Nice to see. Gotta love the 2.0 16v engine. My wife has one - great ride. I drive a Jetta WE 20v 1.8t "slightly modded" turbo. It rides like a rocketship.

Cheers.
