View Full Version : Do you think the proximity modelling is different with v2.04?

Hi,

A few comments have been heard in the server I fly in about the collision/proximity modelling since v2.04. It seems that (and I've experienced this) friendly kills/collisions have been awarded just when planes were both flying/firing in close proximity even though they know that they weren't that close to each other.

Paranoia or something more definite?

Cheers,
Norris

Don't know if you meant this kind of strange behaviour:

I played offline today (a 2on1 dogfight; me in a Bf109F4 against 2xMig3ud) and had a pretty weird encounter...

I finished off the lead-Mig from above and then got behind the second one. We were both flying over water and there wasn't any AAA/ships/etc. near us. I opened fire and got multiple hits on the Mig from around 7 o' clock then I moved onto its dead six and opened fire again (approx. 50m behind it). This time just as I fired again and hit the Mig I heard bullets hitting my plane and my engine went on fire... only seconds later my aircraft exploded midair! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

I don't know what that was - I wished I had saved the track but I forgot to http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif (was too upset)

Actually. . .now that you mention it, a few nights ago myself and a wingman were formed up, engaged a bomber in close form and when we landed, still formed up, it said "Friendly Aircraft Destroyed" in both of our huds, there was no chat line info as to who did what to who. . . but it was pretty strange, and I figure it deserves a mention in a bug report.

definitely noticed more collisions...I thought it might be a coincedence, but since others have seen it too, I'm thinking not now
