Trials Community Member and Track Jam finalist XxGATORMANIAxX has decided to spread the love in the form of a new editor contest revolving around Skill Game creation. The Trials True Skill Mania Build Off is looking for talented builders to create amazing skill games on whatever platform they play on. Up for grabs are $350 worth of cash prizing, as well as Trials Fusion gear such as hoodies, t-shirts and flags.

Kinda busy right now? That’s alright, you have until March 14th 2015 to submit your skill games. All you need to do is upload your creation to Track Central prefaced with “TTSB“ and let Gator know about it in this thread (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/988822-Trials-Fusion-Skill-Game-Build-Off). Pretty simple, right? The difficult part is actually creating a Skill Game, but that’s on you.

Heck, Gator himself has made flight-sims, monster trucks and is currently working on a warmech-style shooter. I can’t even make a ball roll… Anyhow, we got Gator to take a bit of time out of his busy day to answer a few questions with us.

Why did you decide to start a competition based on Skill Game creation?
I'm having this comp to encourage builders that are out there to keep pushing themselves in the editor. Also to shine more light on the things that you can achieve in the editor. If you can think it you can probably make it and everyone should always be pushing the envelope of their creativity. Without it where would we be?

Is there anything that you hope to see come out of this competition?
I hope to see something new that totally blows my mind. I'm hoping that the contestants take the time to make a full bodied experience. I love that feeling when someone sees what your making/playing and is like "This is Trials?". I mean start building a main goal or idea of your track. Then start placing structure around your idea and add to it every day. Mapping out your ideas on a sketchpad can help helped me a lot. To sum it up I'm looking for people to utilize great planning and execution when it comes to their track. If you make something, strive to make it one of the best ones out there.

Why did you start making crazy editor stuff?
Well my brain is always thinking of crazy ideas or contraptions. This game has given me an outlet to express my creativity. I noticed after a year of editing in Trials Evo that my ability to solve problems had doubled. The Trials Editors will increase your skills on many levels while at the same time helping you understand what goes into making track into a full experience.

Do you have any projects that are you working on now?
At the moment I have 2 major projects. One of them is a scale replica of a certain Helicarrier that is bigger than a football field. I am also working on a fully animated Mech Assault Game.
Do you remember the first thing that you ever built in the editor?
Yes I do. I was messing around in The HD editor and I made a huge medevil catapult that would launch the rider into walls. I had to get my start somewhere.

What are some things that you hope to see in the future with the Trials Series?
An ever growing community of people that share a common goal. To always exercise the right to recreate what their mind sees. I love how this game brings brilliant minds together.

Is there anything else you would like to say?
I'm really excited to see what kind of great ideas come in from this contest and how their ideas will influence others.

And there you have it, the words right from the man himself. For more details on XxGATORMANIAxX’s competition, including how to enter, make sure to head over to his post on the RedLynx forum (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/988822-Trials-Fusion-Skill-Game-Build-Off).
