So you haven't decided on a CPU, I'm assuming.

You should focus your budget more towards a GPU rather than a CPU.

If it's $300 total, here's my suggestion:

CPU - AMD FX-6300 $100 (6 cores is future proof and its performance is all you need for gaming)

GPU - GTX 960 2GB $200 (it can run just about every game at high/ultra settings in 1080p, including Unity)

Smoothly? Then you need Titan Z or 295x2 my young padawan. Even that card might not give you constant 60 all the time. The game is a pure trash in terms of optimization.

GTX 960 is low end video card and cannot event beat the 760, also it has 2GB vram which is very low nowadays, R9 280x has more Vram 3GB and is better value for extra 20$-30$, , so if it was me with this kind of budget (since we only know CPU budget), i will get:

intel i5 or AMD 8350.
GPU: AMD R9 280x (around 230$-240$) or if you have more money R9 290x (its for 290$ now).

However, dont expect 60 FPS on such med-range video card (280x) with that budget unless if you lowered graphics settings and resolution, at 1080p, you will be able to use mix of high/ultra with FXAA and get around 30-40 FPS.

I Have Amd 8350 R9 280X Overclocked ALOT and i dont get near those frames i have latest drivers so which means
1. you have no idea what you say
2. i have a problem and help me fix plox ? :)
Edit: even on lowest settings 20fps

no, i have an idea about what i'm saying and here is a bench (NOTE this high preset uses 2xMSAA, i said FXAA in my post which will give you around 5-7 FPS more and render your FPS in between 30-40 same as i stated):

Also this bench was done before AMD Omega drivers which boost the performance in all games especially this one, so the problem is from your side.

Hi! I'm using a FX6300 and an Asus Gtx 760 getting around 32-45 fps in most situations, 900p windowed mode, maybe an overclock to your CPU should be good to get better performance, you asked for a budget GPU, there you go :D, I DO NOT RECOMMEND A GTX 750TI also if i were you i wouldnt go with AMD, choose NVIDIA, also i would recommend you to go here: http://www.tomshardware.com/
acknownledge people about PC and Performance, there you should have your answer :D

Man, 300$ is a VERY TIGHT budget, specially for building a machine capable of running a game like this, so poorly optimized. I would recommend you to save a bit more, until you get to the 400-500$ mark. Honestly, I can't recommend any CPU since the last time I scouted for one, was 4 years ago to get my i7 930, but I can tell you my experience with a low budget card like the GTX 750 Ti. I bought this game just out of morbid curiosity to see if it run at all on my modest rig, and yeah, if you are willing to do some serious graphic sacrifices, you can get a nice experience with this game. I run it with the lowest settings, lowest resolution and high textures, FXAA, AO Off and bloom off, and I have a nice 40-50 FPS range in Paris (with some areas dropping to +35). It's actually very playable but I can understand if most people don't want to even try this, I cringed my teeth the first time I had to lower my resolution from my native 1680x1050 to 1280x800, but at least I get no stuttering at all with this.

LOL but yeah, running this game with a GTX 750 Ti is not for the faint of heart ;)

You guys can get playable frame rates with most mid-range cards if you just learn to tweak the graphic settings a bit. Even if you choose a preset like "low", just go back and try to modify it a bit. There are some settings that you can do without, and even some that you can get away with even though you thought it would be taxing on the GPU. In my experience just going with a preset alone and leaving it at that doesn't always get you the most of what you want.

not sure i can recommend anything that runs this smoothly nasa super computer maybe but unity is insanely laggy regardless of fps

this is not enough to run it smoothly it runs a game like shadows of mordor at 100fps maxed at 2560x1440 though so theres that :D

2600k i7@4,6ghz
2x 780ti SLI
16gb 2133mhz ddr3
samsung 850 pro ssd
