Hello Uplay Gamers,

We’ve just released a new client update, and while there won’t be any noticeable changes for you on this occasion, there are some for us to make use of.

In this release we’ve added additional tracking of download errors. Essentially what this will do is allow us to acquire more information relating to the issues some users have been experiencing when downloading games and patches.

We will use this information to fix those issues in the coming weeks while also taking this opportunity to investigate other potential improvements to the way you download your games and patches.

You don’t just have to leave it in our hands though. If you’re having any issues downloading your games or game patches please feel free to head on over to our Technical Support (http://forums.ubi.com/forumdisplay.php/514-Technical-amp-support-issues) forum section and let us know about it.

Remember to include all of the information you can in your post so that we can track down these issue faster.

--------------------------------

That's it for now folks.
As always, if you continue to encounter any issues related to downloading games or patches, please don't hesitate to let us know here on the forums.

I recently bought far cry 4 for the pc and have been playing it for a few weeks now.
Today uplay said it needed an update so I let it do the update but when I wanted to start far cry again it said i needed to enter the activation code, like it did when i first bought the game. but when i enter my code it says that my code is banned.
this started when i did this last update from uplay...
can it be fixed?

I'm looking into the issues regarding banned games.
Where did you all purchase your games from?

I guess (looking throw the forum) most of us bought their banned keys at g2a.com or kinguin.com. In my case it was g2a.com, which looked trustworthy and is promoted a lot at sites like twitch.tv at the moment.

Now i realized that it seems like those keys they offer are not valid at all and probably bought with non covered or even stolen credit cards.

What is and was confusing for me as costumer is the fact that this key ban was issued the same time the client patch was released and that the game was just removed out of the library without any notification.

Also the fact that i get told to contact the tech support when i re-enter the key is not helpful at all as the retailer demands for refund a clear proof from my side that ubisoft banned the key.

I want to thank you for your time to answer us here, but i guess this is not really a uplay client issue, just the lack of information about the key bans confused us costumers.

And i guess a improvement in that direction in the future (of giving more details about key bans directly in the uplay client) would be appreciated.

I would still be glad about any answer about what exactly happened. :)

VERSION 5.0 - Tuesday February 17th 2015

New Download Manager
Queue up multiple downloads in the download manager and prioritise that special game you just can't wait to play. All you have to do is click on the arrow on the download you want to prioritize and it will jump to the top of the queue.
The download manager can be accessed at any time by clicking on the “Downloads” button in the top right corner of the client.
Install Games from Folder
Already downloaded a game but you’ve re-installed your operating system or perhaps you’ve uninstalled Uplay? With this new feature you can skip re-downloading your game and instead detect your existing game files.
To do that simply select the folder where the game is located during the regular download process and the Uplay client will automatically detect and verify your game files.
Locate Moved Games
If you ever move an installed game’s folder on your computer without uninstalling the game, you can now hit the “Play” button again in the Uplay Client and you’ll be prompted to re-locate it to continue playing.
FPS Counter Overlay
Check out what kind of frame rate you’re getting with the new FPS counter which can be enabled/disabled under the “Settings” tab in the in-game Uplay Overlay.
VoiP Visual Notification
As an addition to our existing VoiP features we’ve added a new visual notification that you can see in game any time a party member presses their push-to-talk key.
Game Version Selector
An option to select a specific version of a game has been added to the client. It is not currently available for use by the broader community at the moment but it will allow developers to test updated game versions in a live environment before releasing them to the public.

Hi,
I have the same problem as mentioned above. After the update, when I click on the .exe it acts like it is loading and then stops for some reason. It was working fine before the update.
Thanks

Good to hear I am not the only one.
I thought it was due to my password reset that uplay doesn't start anymore.
So I uninstalled an reinstalled it...should have taken a look into the forum before I reinstalled it.
AC Unity and Anno 2070 have to be reinstalled now (if uplay works again in the first place) ... about 80 GB.. thanks ubisoft

Div-S-Wuttke,

As you may have seen, the update to version 5.0 which was applied and then rolled back today included the ability to use game files on your computer instead of needing to re-download your games upon reinstalling. This is a feature we are working to get in place, but it appears that the update had to temporarily be rolled back while some changes are made. We want this feature as much as you do and we'll have it in place as soon as it's ready.

So you say the patch was rolled back... but yet I cannot find any play to manually go back to the older version short of uninstalling and losing my game files and an hours' install. is there no way to force the older version to load? if I click on the uplay or assassin's creed unity icon it does nothing just sits there, I looked in my task manager and uplay is using 15% cpu which should not be the case. when I go onto uplay and try to redownload it, it comes up with a newer version is installed. earlier today uninstalled and then reinstalled and it automatically updated and thus will not work. How do I fix this, kind of annoyed I was looking forward to playing Unity today.

Are you going to add the option to have uPlay run on startup (since most games actually require it) and, consequentially, the ability to start it minimised?

If you check out this post (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1012791-Uplay-update-in-last-20-minutes-has-stopped-it-working-for-me?p=10582358&viewfull=1#post10582358) by Ubi-Cain it should help you get playing.

I don't have any information on that at the moment, I'm sorry.

I had to install older version which automatically updated to version 4.9.6. Fortunately it was there on my HDD. But now I have to re-install AC Unity again & re-download dead kings DLC as well. I have re-installed FC 4
however its not updating itself to the latest version of the game. Never mind its patching the game now
